Emma

Name: Emma
Country: n/a
Favorite Horse: Hard to choose. I’d have to say Viper. Closely followed by Brutus and Echo
Riding Ability: Intermediate

Experience: The experience was something I’ll never forget! As soon as I was off the plane I was welcomed by Mandy, given a whistle stop tour of where I would be staying and straight off to meet up with Pat on the Fishing Village Ride. The six weeks carried on the same way- never short of something to do or people to meet, I learnt so much from my time there. I swam in the sea with horses for the first time, I met people of all nationalities and from all walks of life, I went on boat trips and visited Islands, I snorkelled and tried foods I’d never heard of before. The horses are all incredibly well cared for and one of the best things about the six weeks was getting to know their individual personalities. I can’t list all my favourite parts of my trip because there’s far too much, but what I would say is if anyone is thinking about doing the Volunteer Project at Mozambique Horse Safari, go for it! Being thousands of miles away from home and being exposed to a completely different way of life, inevitably there are challenges. However, if you go with an open mind and an open heart you’ll never look back and have memories to take with you for the rest of your life.
